5 A Day

I was recently on couponing to Disney and saw an awesome thing she is doing called 5 A Day (you can read the full post here) Basically Monday through Friday she will be posting 5 different companies and their contact form to write them about a compliment or complaint about their product and 9 times out of 10 they will send you some coupons! These are usually free product or high dollar coupons. I have already had some success with this, I e-mailed Pampers, because when I had my baby in September the hospital had Swaddlers and while I was using 2 of the diapers the tabs tore off and so I wrote them and complained and they sent me 2 $5 off any Pampers product coupons! I sent these into diapers.com and got an awesome deal on diapers, so it really does work. Come along and try it with me! Pin It

Kmart Doubles in Oregon

I do not know if this would work, but I do know at some point they had super doubles at Kmart in Oregon, I think everyone should get together and write to Kmart corporate here and petition to get them back. When I lived in Arizona I was able to get all the stuff above for $4.24 with Kmart doubles and probably $2 or more was just for tax, so in Oregon that would be about $2 for everything!! That is amazing, so lets as Oregonians write and get them back.

Register Rewards

Register Rewards are Catalina coupons that print out when you purchase certain items/and or you spend a certain amount on different items. This coupon (pictured) above can then be used on your next transaction at Walgreens.

• You can earn one RR deal per transaction, so if there is a $2 Huggies RR and you buy 3 packages of Huggies in the same transaction only one $2 RR will print to get all 3, split them into 3 seperate transactions then a $2 RR will print for each one.


• You cannot use a Huggies RR to pay for Huggies in a seperate transaction, so you will need to switch off RR deals. For instance use your Huggies RR to pay for something else that is producing a RR that week then use that RR to purchase your Huggies.


• Walgreens treats RR's as manufacturers coupons. If you have a $2 RR and you are purchasing a razor using a manufacturer coupon, then you will also need to purchase a small filler such as a holiday pencil or a small piece of candy. There is a limit of one manufacturers coupon per item.

Rite Aid 101

Rite aid has a program called Single Check Rebates, this is an awesome program because often times you can get an item for free after rebate and when you combine this with a manufacturers coupon you end up making money on the deal.

Each month Rite Aid will have rebates on many different items, just go here to register, once you register just start entering receipts. Once you enter your receipt information, wait about 2 days then log back on and it will show a list of all the rebates you are eligible for, then just click request my rebate.

Keep in mind you can only request one rebate check per household/per month, so just enter all your receipts online and wait until the monthly rebate period ends to request your check.

The check (pictured above) can be cashed at a bank, or you can also take it to Rite Aid and use it like a gift card towards another purchase.



The rebate amount will not deduct coupons you used, for instance if the item was $4 and the SCR is $4 and you used a $2 coupon, you will get the full $4 rebate even though you paid $2 for the item so you would make $2 on this deal.


I would advise you to keep your receipts until the rebate clears your account, just in case it does not show up. If it does not show up, you can fax a copy of your receipt and what rebate you were trying to get to 800-457-2243, send a note as well letting them know you would like the rebate credited to your SCR account.



For example, they had a $3 SCR on Olay Regenerist moisturizers the math looked like this:
Purchase 2 Olay Regenerist Mosturizers at $7.99 ea = $15.98
used 2 $3/1 Regenerist Coupons =$15.98-6 total $9.98
submit for SCR- get back $6 also submitted for the $15 Olay Regenerist Rebate here
So after rebates this deal was a $5 moneymaker Pin It

Walgreens 101

Basic Walgreens Facts

• Walgreens does allow you to use a Walgreens coupon and a manufacturers coupon on the same item.




• Walgreens does not allow you to bring coupons back after the sale is complete, you have to return the item and then rebuy it with the coupon.



• You only need to use 1 Walgreens coupon per transaction, for instance if there is a Walgreens coupon for $1 per pack of Huggies and you are buying 3 packs when the cashier scans that coupon it will automatically take off $3.


• Walgreens has a one coupon per item limit, so if you are buying 3 items and you have a manufacturers coupon for each item, you CANNOT use a Register Reward for this transaction unless you have a filler item.



• Walgreens has a program called Register Rewards, you can read more abou that program here. Register Rewards is Walgreens catalina program, it is a coupon that prints out for a certain dollar amount off your next transaction.

So to get started lets go over all the possible coupon terms I may be using, just so you are not completely lost.

• PG- This is for the Proctor and Gamble coupon insert, for example a post may say- 12/27 PG so you would find this coupon in the PG brand saver from December 27th, 2009

RP- Red Plum, another insert

SS- This is for Smart Source coupon insert

WYB- When you buy, for example "get a free 50oz Tide wyb $30 of Proctor and Gamble products

• BOGO- Buy one get one free or B2G1, which would be buy 2 get 1 free




• FAR- Free after rebate




• OYNO- On your next order, often times a coupon will print out after you check out for a certain amount, or a free product on your next shopping order.



• Catalina- A coupon that prints out along with your receipt.


• OOP- out of pocket, the total cost you will pay after all coupon redemptions


• YMMV- Your mileage may vary, you may have to try several different stores for deal sucess.


• SCR- Single check rebate, this is Rite Aids rebate program see my Rite Aid post for more details
